So, my latest creation and challenge was a sourdough!!! I don't even know how it started, but I have never been a huge fan of sourdough breads and when I first read a lengthy process of nurturing the sourdough, I think I shut the book right away. But I guess the curiosity grew in me, and here I am today, holding a fresh 3 pound miche.
The process of making it lasted about a week: growing the seed culture, making the mother starter, making the dough and finally baking it. I feel I got very attached to the bread during the last week. Also, thanks to Peter Reinhart's Artisan Breads Every Day, the bread turned out fabulous and the experience was very pleasant.
